Tiffany Binaté - Marketing Manager

Tiffany Binaté is the kind of person who sometimes doesn’t know when to STOP. Stop coming up ideas, that is. Having worked in sales, marketing and management for over twelve years, she has a natural ability to look at things from a different perspective. “I used to drive my employers nuts by the amount of questions I would ask. I remember having a coworker train me at a fast-food joint that literally tried to avoid me. She would say ‘Don’t worry, you won’t need to know that for this job.’ I always thought that was funny because it automatically sets a label on that person that says, ‘only here for the money’, while I was there to work and make a difference.”

Tiffany has always known that asking questions will result in answers, which will help establish relationships. Twelve years apart from her first high-school management job at a local KFC, Tiffany is still thinking differently than others. Having originally started in database sales, she is currently working on several projects and helping with overall marketing strategy at Record Information Services, a 15-year old data compiler in Kaneville, IL. “To me, the hardest part about what we do here is explaining what we do, because it is such a niche industry. That is one of the things that drew me to this company as well.” Tiffany enjoys the challenge of sales and the creativity she can express through marketing at Record Information. Above all she enjoys working for a company that has great potential, and being able to contribute to that greatness.

Tiffany was previously an assistant manager in advertising for DeKalb County’s largest news publications, The Daily Chronicle and The MidWeek, where she sold the largest classified sales territory, coordinated over forty-plus yearly special-event pages, all while keeping up with her assistant manager and other duties. Tiffany’s favorite marketing project to-date has been a page she coordinated for the Daily Chronicle during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, which helped raise over $1,400 for the DeKalb County Chapter of the American Red Cross. “This project was very satisfying because instead of being about revenue and goals, we had the opportunity to use our resources to help others in need”, said Tiffany of this project.

Tiffany is a part-time student at Kishwaukee College, working towards what she hopes will someday be a master’s degree in marketing. “My dream position would be as a brand manager for Pepsi, Doritos or another like brand, but I know deep down that I will probably wind up working for myself eventually. As long as I am making a difference in the company, enjoy who I work with, and make a decent living, it doesn’t matter what I do.” She currently spends her spare time learning about everything business-related, coming up with marketing ideas, studying to keep her 4.0 GPA, coming up with more marketing ideas and learning Photoshop.
